Biker Make Over!

At the 2009 Carlisle Bike Fest, held July 17-19 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, two lucky bikers will win biker makeovers from the Garage-Girls, Sara Liberte and Jody Perewitz. One lucky grand-prize winner will not only get a personal makeover but will also win a makeover for their motorcycle to boot!

The concept is simple: take Extreme Home Makeover for a person, in this case a biker (male or female) combine it with Pimp My Ride (a custom car makeover show) and bring it to one of the largest motorcycle events in the country; have two talented, well-known girls in the custom motorcycle industry host, judge and conduct the makeovers and you’ve got yourself the Garage-Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover, Carlisle Edition.

Contestants must submit a 200 words or less essay – describing why they are most in need of a biker makeover as well as a photo to bikermakeover@garage-girls.com by May 15, 2009.

Submissions will be narrowed down to a few finalists, and then narrowed down to the final three, via on-line voting at www.Garage-Girls.com and www.CarlsileEvents.com. Two winners will be selected for the Rider Makeover, including all-new gear and accessories with one grand-prize winner, who will win the Ultimate Biker Makeover. Winners must be present at the Carlisle Bike Fest on Saturday, July 18th to collect their prizes.

Winners will receive killer new riding gear from ICON including Jacket, Helmet and gloves, a sweet new pair of riding boots from HD-Footwear, a case of Spectro motorcycle oil, Wizards Cleaning Products, Pink Partz Clothing, a year subscription to IronWorks Magazine, and this is just the tip of the iceberg, tons more prizes will be given away as well as way cool parts and accessories for the Lucky Winners Motorcycle.

Thug & Streets Most Excellent Adventures - Daytona

Like all good things, Thug and Streets Most Excellent Adventure has come to an end. We had a blast!. I can't possibly relate all the good things that happened during Bike Week 'cause I'd clog the blog. But I have a few things I noticed in Daytona and a few random observations I'd like to share. In no special order they are:

1) Everyody knows Dave
2) Dave knows everybody
3) Most of the women who "flash" while riding down Main Street would do the world a favor by keeping their shirts on
4) To the 1% of the women who actually look pretty good while flashing....Thank You
5) If you don't believe that God created women, stand next to the Wild Turkey Girls for about 5 minutes. "HE" was in a good mood that day
6) Kory Souza is the happiest when he has his arm around Jody, Cheech, or a wrench
7) Fact! Lollipops makes 99% of their annual profit during Bike Week. Most of that 99% comes from Massachusetts. You can look it up
8) When it comes to motorcycle repairs, the Perewitz crew does the extremely difficult immediately. The impossible takes about 4 hours
9) Nobody beats Jeff Salim at the electronic punching bag machine. Guy's got a mean overhand right
10) The Garage Girls are doing some seriously important work. Support them

Streets

V-Twin Dealers Show

Kory, Jeff, Jesse, and I left on Thursday to head to the V-Twin Dealers show in Cincinnati Ohio. We hit a huge ice storm almost through the whole state of PA. I tried taking pictures but it was too dark out! The ice on the front of the truck was at least a couple inches thick! It was unbelievable. But we made it there and back safe.

The show was good. There was a bunch of cool new stuff. One of the things that sticks out in my mind is a new bike that Cory Ness built. It is for S&S 50th Party. It was just really cool and different! It had a crazy set of one-of-a-kind wheels. I unfortunatley didn't have my camera to take a picture and I can't find one on the web so you will be held in suspense till it is unveiled.

Sara and I pushed our new website Garage-Girls.com to various vendors. It went over big, everyone loves the idea and wants to get involved.

Show wrap up!

Happy Monday!

We got back from the Northeast Expo show in Reading PA late last night. It was a great show as usual for Kev-Marv Productions. There was a huge attendance.

Sara and I finished our Garage Girls bobber on Sunday. The bike roared to life. The Perewitz booth was full of people throughout the day getting autographs and checking out the cool customs. The most popular bike though was Dave's 1950 Pan!

As we packed up last night we all thought about what a great show it was. Also a highlight was that my Ant BB (Barb for Barb's Harley Davidson of Camden County) came to see Sara and I work and hang out with my mom. It was good to see her. Hopefully she will come to the Boston Show Feb. 8-9.

The drive home was good until we hit Norton, MA. They had a dusting of snow that covered the roads. Kory and I dropped Jeff off and headed home to B'water. The closer we got to home the worse the roads got. The highway was a snow covered road! It was like no one existed! There were no plows, no trucks or cars out. Once we got off the highway we had to drive about 5 miles to our house. Kory had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive because the trailer and truck was just slipping and sliding. We were both thrilled to be home after a long cold ride and a bogus hotel.

There's nothing like home, well except maybe the Ritz Carlton!!

De's Adventure

On Saturday Jan. 5th Susan P. and I closed up shop to go down to the Hartford Expo to give our support to Jody and Sara's Garage Girl Bike Build. It was fun to see them hard at work but enjoying every minute. As Sue and I were walking around to each vendor, I saw a very lonely mechanical bull. I said what, "No line & free!" Oh what the hell my back is fine today..
So up I went, leather glove in one hand and the other raised for balance. The switch turned on and the bull moved enough to get me to say Yeee haw. Mr. Bull was moving a bit faster than I wanted up, down, left and right. I proceeded to show off 5 times around with no dramamine on board I said, "please slow down".
Now I can say I rode a bull and that's no bullshit!
I had brought somewhat of a crowd to the bull, when our buddy, the parts guy Jeff, thought he would give it a whirl. As soon as he was on and gloved up Mr. Bull was starting to gallop up and down, left and right, faster and faster! So fast our buddy Jeff went flying with the greatest of ease!
And that's no bull!
