In the Works

Check out the pictures of a new bike we are building, well actually Big Ron is building it, because it hasn't gone past fabrication stage as of now. It is a 49 Panhead Frame with a 66 Shovelhead in it. The motor actually has a Panhead bottom and Shovel tops like all 66-69 HD motors had. Dave is building it for himself but like all his bikes he doesn't keep them for long so this could be yours!

The springer front end is a Harley that was shortened. Notice the custom made bars?It also has a custom exhaust Big Ron made. There is a lot of cool trick things on this bike that is going to make it an eye catcher! It's also cool because once again it breaks the Perewitz mold!!!

Get Funky with PPG

When Jody started this awesome blog, she prefaced it by stating that it would include "anything and everything" that happened in the industry and at events.
Well, the following definitely falls under that category.

Last week at the SEMA show, Dave displayed two of his bikes in the PPG booth.
Traditionally, these industry shows can tend to be boring, typical and corporate, YAWN, YAWN, YAWN. However, this year PPG decided to be a little different and stand-out from their competitors (actually, from everyone.) We wanted the booth to be FUN and make people remember us.

We decided to go with a late 60's - early 70's retro theme. This was largely due to some new pigments that we were launching from that era.

Our booth colors, cars, motorcycles, furniture, music and lava lamps all represented that time period! Even our give-away candy was from that time period; remember Pop-Rocks, Bottle caps, Atomic Fireballs, Mary Jane's and Razzles!

The staff uniforms also had a retro look to them. However, on Halloween we decided to REALLY go outside of the corporate box and everyone working the booth wore their own costume from that era. There was even some money on the table for the person with the best costume... so you know we were serious! We were in Vegas, after all, there had to be a little wager.

You might be asking "what did Dave wear that day," but you will need to keep asking because there are no pictures of Dave from Halloween. So, you will have to decide for yourself if Dave came in costume or not... What do you think??? Does Dave have a FUNKY side???

Chicago Bears

Ruben and Dave

Dave is currently on his way home from a photo shoot with the Chicago Bears. We recently finished a 1965 Panhead for Ruben Brown of the Bears. This was a last minute trip. He has been wanting to do this but couldn't cordinate the times with the Bears. Well It finally happened!


The photo shoot will be in an up coming issue of Cycle Source Magazine. Chris Callen was on hand with some photographers to get the whole scoop on the 6th bike we have built for Ruben. I will post info and pics as soon as I get them!

J'Witz

This is kind of tough writing about me… I am, as you can assume, Dave’s daughter, Jody. I have been involved in the business for my whole life, well as soon as I was old enough to work. I have had other jobs as well. Probably one of my most favorite jobs was Dunkin Donuts. I had more fun at that job and make good $$ too! I really worked those customers for tips!

Anyway I of course ride motorcycles. I have a couple of bikes myself. My first bike was a Buell M2. I still have one now, but I upgraded and got a Buell XB12 Firebolt. I love that bike! It is fun to ride, looks cool, and is American made.

My 63 Panhead

Recently we painted it, lowered it, changed the exhaust, and made a few other adjustments. I can’t be a Perewitz without a custom bike! It came out really cool. You’ll have to come by and take a look.

Wakeboarding at the cape

I have fun riding 50’s with Kory and the guys too. Although I am not as fast as them, it’s still a good time. When I’m not on bikes I love to go to the water. If it’s the fresh water, we are out in our boat on our lake down the Cape (Cape Cod to those non New Englanders). We usually go wakeboard and occasionally tube. I was just starting to get some height on my wakeboard and the cold weather came! Nuts. Have wait till next summer.

When I go to the ocean I like to surf! I haven’t been as many times as I would like to but I still got to go a few times. It is so much fun to ride the waves. My neighbor Tom, his son Luke, and I go and catch the waves in Eastham.

Another fun thing to do at the ocean is claming! You can get different clams for about 8 months! There are quahogs in the summer, then littlenecks, and then oysters. My mom, my friend Sandy and I went oystering this past weekend. Don’t ask me what we got because it wasn’t much but it was fun. The dogs come with us and run on the beach while we clam. I think they got the biggest catch of the day! A shark!!!!!

Dirti

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Jay you will just laugh to hear his name. We like to call him Dirti because he is the dirtiest, as I say “Dirti you are the dirtiest”! We also decided he should spell it with an i instead of a y because he is unlike anyone you have met.

Jay and Jeff

Jay can come up with the funniest comments. You definitely want to be on his side! He will eat you up if he gets the littlest gossip. He is very witty! Of course, as I am writing this I can’t think of one of his comments… Anyway another thing is he has no fear to slap anyone on the rear end! The best is when him and Kory or Jeff make a sandwich of someone! You know one gets in front of you and the other gets behind and they dance crazy with you in the middle! I will defiantly try to get a picture of that for a later post!

Other things that Jay does would be telling you to look and he is mooning you! Or doing a stinky fart and making you walk through it! Grosse! He is the dirtiest!

Jay has a 9 year old daughter, Tyara. He is an extremely good father to her. He works hard to make sure that she has everything she needs, not everything she wants because there probably isn’t enough money in the world for that, but everything she needs!

He is a great employee to have here. He puts together all of our custom builds including our most recent a 1950 Panhead! He is a dedicated worker but if you ever need a laugh make sure to see Jay!
