Streets’ and Thug’s most excellent Daytona adventure…2009

It’s only a few days away….

Over the last year, our companies have experienced all that you’ve read about…bad news, more bad news, really bad new, major suckage bad news, totally suckage bad news, I-can’t-believe-it’s-happening bad news…you get the picture. One of the thoughts that have carried us through…it’s time to ride!

Streets and I have endured the last year…with our three sons deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan…so…a salute and prayer to them…and a ride with them in mind…

How is it that two wheels and wind takes most of life’s worries away? If I had to explain it, I couldn’t do it….

We’re heading out next Tuesday..with business stops in Richmond and Atlanta..where we’ll pick up new crew member Alan and his new Perewitz Road Glide. We should make Florida by Thursday night…giving us a short respite before Bike Week starts in Friday.

We’ll probably go to the vintage swap meet in Eustis on Friday…if it’s held this year. Last year, Dave picked up a really trick Indian scooter…the type without a motor.

We plan on hanging with the Perewitz and Wild Turkey crews on Main Street. We also plan on a ride around the 2 ½ mile Daytona International track. We’ll get pictures.

There is a good chance that one day, the Perewitz scooter will make an appearance. It tops out at 45 mph with my sorry butt in the saddle, but, at a 100 mpg, who’s complaining? I think my Perewitz flamed helmet adds 2-3 mpg!

The sad part is that Jody will stay back in Bridgewater, holding down the shop. We’ll send plenty of pics and narratives so she won’t feel alone. Also, we’ll miss Dave O, but will lift a drink to him.

Stay tuned….

V-TwinShow 2009

The Expo was a big surprise this year. So much talk about the shitty economy, and no one will be there and it's going to be so slow, blah, blah, blah... well that was far from the fact. The floor was busy with dealers running around taking care of business. Sure, there were a few less vendors, but none were missed to be honest. Everyone I talked to was very psyched about the weekend and business was happening all over the place. Dave was sporting some fresh paint with PPG and had a sweet little bike over at Paughco's booth. Scott from Leroy Thompson was showcasing some nice wheels and parts. I did run into Kory and his boyfriend Jeff on the floor, they were up to no good as usual!

Pranksters! Kory was bummed he couldn't round up enough people to hit
some club called the "Hard Pole" oh well maybe next year Kory!

The city was busy after hours with everyone mixing and checking out the eatery's, Cinci does have some good food. It was a good weekend and hopefully an insight as to what's in store for the year ahead!

Strokers New Site

Hope you had a good weekend!
I was just checking out Rick Fairless's new site. Rick has been a family friend for a wicked long time! Definitely a good dude!
Anyway I could spend hours on Stroker's new site! There is so much content and good content to boot. You have to read Rick's Rant's or Rick Sez. As I read it I could hear him saying it with his thick accent. On the site is an unbelievable amount of pictures! I love to look at the old ones from the 70's, so funny. I wonder if I am going to look that funny 30 years from now... nahhh!
So Check it out! www.strokersdallas.com
This is a picture Thug took on his trip to Dallas at Strokers! It appears that Kory has been there before!!!

Boston NorthEast Expo

Last weekend we (me, susan, de, dante and dirti) were in Boston at the KevMarv Northeast Expo. We brought with us 8 bikes and some merchandise. I was very excited to see the lines out the door Saturday. It was a really busy show both days. The weather was really nice too, so there was even a few brave souls who rode to the show.

Throughout the day the show had Hog races! Yes live pigs racing. It was hilarious! You wouldn't believe how fast they are.

KevMarv definiteley put on a great show. They do an excellent job with promoting the event and getting people in the door. With the economy the way it is you would never know because the show was so busy and people were buying things!

On of the Sick Chicks on a GSXR that Kory did a bunch of stuff too. I know you thought this was at another booth! Who would think Perewitz would have a street bike!
It's great to have a positive weekend when the nation is in such a rutt.
Dante, De and Susan definitely had a good weekend!
Dave, Jeff & Kory were in Cincinatti at the V-twin dealers show, so stay tuned for a post about that!

Kicker iKick - Product review

This docking station "bumps"! We have this set up in our kitchen. Everyday when I get home I turn it on! I can hear it throughout the house. I put the remote in my pocket and can change the song or turn it up! This iKick also goes on the road to motorcycle events too, although for some reason it only plays bands like Guns & Roses at those events... Kory's iKick is custom painted!

Designed to be the loudest MP3 docking stations on the market, the "iKICK" lets you get more out of your MP3 player than ever before. Bass and treble adjustments allow you to enjoy your music the way you want. The big five-inch woofers, 19mm tweeters and 40-watt stereo amplifiers deliver the kind of crisp, powerful sound you expect from a KICKER product. KICKER's patent-pending six-inch square reflex subwoofer delivers a dynamic bass response unmatched by other MP3 docking stations.
I would rate this product a 5! For more info go to http://shop.kicker.com/iKICK/Default.aspx

A motorcycle Shop with a Beach!

LIFE REALLY IS A BEACH at LAZY DOG BEACH
By: Susie P.

For Cheech, Louie, and Gizelle , three of the five Perewitz doggies, life really is at the beach. When ever the sun is out you will find these guys sunning themselves on the lounging couch. Doesn’t matter if the temperature outside is 5 degrees or 50 degrees. The sun shines in on the glass block wall and makes my whole office warm and toasty.

The dogs actually get “beach drunk”. This is a saying that I made up. Its kinda like when you are laying out in the sun and it feels sooo good to be sooo warm that when you pick your head up you get lightheaded and have trouble opening your eyes and focusing on someone or something. You just want to put your head back down and enjoy the warm atmosphere. This is what the doggies do. On sunny days they can’t wait to get up on the couch and stay there til the sun goes down.

P.S. Zip is too wild for laying in the sun at the beach…he only wants to swim after his ball.
Sebago, she prefers to lay on the black pavement in the driveway…the sun warms that too.

Motorcycle Quotes 2

A long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith and use up a lot of fuel.

If you can't get it going with bungee cords, wire and electrician's tape, it's serious.

Never try to race an old geezer, he may have one more gear than you.

Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.

You can forget what you do for a living when your knees are in the breeze.

Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out the car window.

There are two types of people in this world;

people who ride motorcycles and people who wish they did.

Work to ride & ride to work.

People are like Motorcycles: each is customized a bit differently.

Sometimes, the best communication happens when you're on separate bikes.

Weather!

Living in New England you expect crazy weather but no matter how long you live here you still can't figure it out!

This has been a long snowy winter. And according to Punxsutawney Phil it is going to be even longer! Who invented ground hog day anyway. I mean how can we plan our weather on a little animal that happens to come out of his whole?
It seems we just can't get rid of the snow. Yesterday and Sunday we finally got a break! It was in the 40's Sunday and 50's yesterday!! It was so nice out. We could finally see the ground! If we had one more day like that most of the piles would have melted. Another issue was ice. The back of our building was just a thick sheet of ice! Not good for pushing bikes on. Thankfully we didn't have to push any outside. The warm weather melted it enough to break it up and get it away from the door.

Well today is another story. It is COLD and its like a blizzard out! They are predicting about 8+" for us. We just can't win with the weather. One good thing is that it has been so cold and snowy that people will be antsy to ride once the warm weather hits!
