Open House photos

We had our big Open House and Bike Blessing Saturday. It was a wicked good day. I was really pleased at what a success. We had over 500 bikes throughout the day. I will share some awesome photo's everyday this week so keep checking back!

Thug Day 3 Continued

Day 3, again
I made it to Spearfishsafe and sound. Just under 1800 miles total. The bike ran great and there were no other problems.
But thats not the real story.
What are the chancesone in a zillion?
Let me explain with a joke: The company was hurting for revenue so the sales manager assembled the sales team to announce a big increase in sales for the next quarter. The manager said Team, and we are a teamtogether we can reach this goal. There were groans and gasps in the room because the goal was about impossible.
One salesperson spoke up. I cant do it. I am tapped out. I dont think anyone else can do it either. I think the goal is ridiculous."
The sales manager listened, then said Our team can do it. All I hear from you is I cant do it Im tapped out I, I, I. You know, there is no I in TEAM.
To which the salesperson said, Youre right, and your sales goal? There no F in WAY.
Which is what Kory said when I bumped into Him and Joe Pro in a gas station/restaurant in tiny Kimball, SD today.
We left for Sturgis from different cities, on different days, and took different routes. Butit happened! Face to Face!
Then, it kinda happened again. We left together, but Kory was traveling a bit faster than I wasmy bike has a nasty vibration at 4500 rpm, so I have to either keep it under or over those revs. That translates to speeds there were either too slow or too fast for Korys pace. I opted for slower, knowing that Id have to stop for fuel anyway. Then the winds and rain came, so I pulled over and got all my gear on. And I stopped to offer help to a rider broken down. Sonot a half mile from the Spearfish exit and 270 miles later, I caught up to Kory. Amazing!
Todays other story was the weather. The day started off great. Crisp, clean air and sun. The temperature got up to 86 with just a few clouds in the sky. But a wicked cold front came through, dropping the temperature down to 62 in just a few minutes and blowing riders all over the interstate. I was leaned over for about 3 hours and it was Hell passing big rigs.
I dont think I packed anything but t-shirts, so I may have to buy a hoodie tomorrow.
The scenery was much nicer than yesterday and I opted to pass by the Corn Palace (the only one in the world) and Walls Drugstore (also the only one in the world) as I really wanted to get to Spearfish.
Im beat from the wind. And tomorrow, Ill be back riding a V-Twin.

Yesterday we went for a short ride into Deadwood, SD. After we went to get something to eat and got a little more. While sitting down for dinner the sky got very dark and let down bucket loads for rain. Ok so we can deal with the rain, so what if things get wet we can clean them and dry them. That wasn't the end of it. It soon started to hail. The biggest hail I have ever seen. The pieces were the size of a bottle cap and bigger! So there was a mad scramble to get the bikes under cover. All we could do was watch and wait it out. So we went back inside had a delicious meal and waited till the coast was clear. Kory, Jeff, and I rode back home wet and dirty. It only took us an hour or so to scrub our bikes clean and we have a good story to tell.

The Ride to SD

Kory, Jeff, and I left Thursday afternoon for Sturgis. We had another group of guys following us out there. The 3 of us are definitely experienced "road guys". We travel so much that we all can load, unload, drive and now change tires pretty quick, well quicker than most.

The trailer that was following us was a little overweight for the tires that were on it. They got their first blow out in NY, Oh great only 1/5 of the way to SD. They got 3 more blow out before we got past Chicago which was the half way point! We had to stop at an out of the way tire place in Des Moines Iowa to get some more spares. We had used all the spares we had. The trailer took an odd size tire so it was difficult to find. Fortunately all the blow outs were in day light, there was a place to pull over, and it wasn't raining.

We ended up making it to Spearfish, SD, which is just west of Sturgis, at about 3am Central time! So we were on the road for about 40 hours when it should have taken us 32-34. I guess I am just hoping that the trip home is much faster because you know the trip home from anywhere always seems so much longer!

This was blow out #3. I didn't take pictures of the actual change of #1 because I thought it would be a one time deal, no such luck!

Scootah Race!

What's going on?

We have a lot going on for a Monday. Kory is working overtime getting the Hayabusa done for Black Bike Week in Myrtle Beach this week. Ya that's right this week! Kory has 2 days to finish the Busa. Then him and my dad are driving back down to South Carolina. They are leaving Wednesday to debut the bike. It will be on the cover of 2-Wheel Tuner Magazine. I will get you some more sneak peaks when it's done.

Joe Pro is here cleaning bikes therefore I have not seen the dogs all day long. Louie has obtained a permanent post next to Joe in his red bed! They just love Joe! It's so funny they get so excited just to hear his name.

Tomorrow the infamous Street's and Thug will be here to pick up Thug's Baggah and Bobbah!

Dirti is working on the 60 Panhead he is building. Maybe he will have it done for this Myrtle Beach? I will get pictures as soon as it's done.

Big Ron is working on a sidecar bike. The bike is for Rubin Brown. He wanted something his could take his kids in. This bike is going to be a cool ride with an ultimate system and a TV installed by Detailz. Wait till you see it!

Tomorrow I will bring you lots of pictures!

Joe Pro's Helpers

Joe Pro is a great guy! If you have ever met him you will agree. He has been my fathers friend for as long as I can remeber. He is on his 15th Perewitz custom!

He comes to the shop a couple of times a month for a few days to detail bikes. He will spend easily 10 hours cleaning a bike. When he comes he has 3 little helpers, Zipp, Louie and Cheech! The three dogs absolutely love Joe. It is unbelievable, they will stay downstairs with him all day. They are glued to him.

It is something to because Louie is very timid and doesn't really bond with people he doesn't know except Joe and maybe Donna. Joe hasn't been here in at least a month because he was traveling but the dogs didn't forget him! As soon as they heard him they started to get excited!

One time we were watching a home video with Joe in it and Zipp was sound asleep on the couch. As soon as Joe came on he jumped up, looked around and went over to the door. He knew he heard Joe!
